Throughout the year, we introduce limited edition seasonal flavors so you can keep your menu fresh. How we come up with our seasonals is our secret sauce, but in this series, we invite you to take a sneak peek inside our kitchen.
This February, we’re excited to introduce Sweet Cream, our latest seasonal mochi now available to order!
What was the inspiration behind this flavor?
While testing new ways to innovate our flavor menu, our team of culinary experts started tossing around some truly creative ideas. From wasabi, soy sauce, pink peppercorns, and more, our team decided that maybe it was time for the birth of a new flavor; one that could act as a blank canvas for experimentation. A chef’s dream!
What is sweet cream?
Sweet cream is exactly what it sounds like! With its rich and velvety taste, the sweet cream mochi flavor is perfect for anyone and everyone! Whether enjoying it on its own, or using it as the base for an adventurous mochi creation, the sweet cream mochi embodies elegance and refinement.
How can I use the sweet cream mochi?
There are truly endless possibilities with this new flavor! Our advice would be to think of your favorite flavors, ice cream toppings, sauces, etc. and then do a little experimenting 😏
While the sweet cream mochi has been perfected to enjoy on its own, our culinary experts have been playing around with some new mochi creations to take this flavor to the next level! So far, there has been a standout recipe that our team has been OBSESSING over: Caviar Mochi! We’re loving it so much, we decided to feature it here for all of you to replicate and taste for yourselves!
What kind of caviar should I use?
While we would urge you to buy a slew of caviar to indulge on and explore, we found that Siberian sturgeon was our top choice! The complex taste and satisfying melt-in-your-mouth bite makes it the perfect pair to our sweet cream mochi! With just a hint of fruitiness and essence of sea breeze, this caviar is essential in sending your taste buds on a salty sweet journey.
How to: Caviar mochi
- Sweet cream mochi
- Creme fraiche
- Fresh chives
Place sweet cream mochi on a plate. Add a small dollop of creme fraiche directly on top of the piece of mochi. Add one blini on top of creme fraiche.
Using a mother of pearl spoon (plastic is also fine!), place a scoop of caviar on top of the blini.
Garnish the caviar with fresh chopped chives, serve, and enjoy
