Quem disse que para comer e beber bem é preciso subir à superfície? Na Columbus Circle, no extremo sudoeste do Central Park, encontra-se o Turnstyle Underground Market, um pequeno centro comercial e gastronômico onde comprar presentes e provar especialidades. Sob a Oitava Avenida, entre as ruas 57 e 58, o 16 Handles × Mochidoki serve mochi (bolinho de farinha de arroz) em sua versão gelada, com sabor de gergelim, pistache e outras delícias. Os donuts genuínos, fritos na hora e mais semelhantes à nossa ideia de rosquinha por seu pequeno tamanho e sua textura, são vendidos no Doughnuttery. Um espaço doce com sete acessos, onde se pode entrar sem precisar usar um bilhete de metrô.
